Christmas in UT

Well, Christmas has come and gone once again! Daniel and I had an absolutely wonderful Christmas this year! Dan was so excited about Christmas this year because, and I quote, "this is the most presents I have had since I was a little kid"! We both got some really nice things. I am thinking that Dan's favorite present was probably the remote controlled helicopter that he got from Mom and Autumn. He said when he opened it, "this is going to drive you insane". He is right... I can already tell that I am going to lose my mind (and trust me, that is easy for me to do these days... pscyho pregnant chick pops out at times) when he is flying that little helicopter around our tiny apartment. Although, I have a feeling that I am not going to be the only one going insane because of the helicopter flying... Jack will too! However, I sense that Jack will have more fun than I will :D Thanks Mom and Autumn ;) We got some games from Mimi and Daddypa, which is really nice, because we have been wanting to add games to our collection so that we have things to play together and with the kids (someday). I got Pirates of the Caribbean 3 from my sister in-law . I also got a bunch of movies from Dan, he got me Pirates 3 also (obviously we will be returning that), A Bug's Life, Toy Story, Toy Story 2, Ratatouille, and Monster's Inc. We now officially own all of Pixar's animated movies :D I got some more maternity clothes from Dan, Carol, Mom, and Autumn! Which means that now I have more than 2 shirts that fit! Dan got me the book that I wanted called Belly Laughs. The book is by Jenny McCarthy and her sense of humor is right up my alley... I do not like reading pregnancy books like "What to Expect While Expecting", I enjoy things that are a bit more light hearted and real. The last pregnancy book that I read was The Girlfriend's Guide to Pregnancy. It was an informative, yet funny, down to earth book. Dan also got me Baby Laughs, also by Jenny McCarthy. Baby Laughs is about the first year of motherhood! We got a really nice picture frame from Carol that has 11 pictures in it (I think... something like that)! I got a monogrammed necklace that I LOVE from Mom and Autumn! Dan got a NC State hat and I got a UNC hat from Mom and Autumn too :D Dan wore his State hat to Carol's for Christmas dinner, the family busted out in "Duke is puke, Wake is fake, but the team I hate is NC State"... Dan was like, "what?"... it was obvious that he is not from NC, but I still love him :D Dan got some really nice things too... if I do say so myself :D He got some new clothes, cologne (Very Sexy from Victoria's Secret), a 2 GB flash drive, and of course, a big chocolate penguin! I will post pictures from Christmas soon! It snowed over 6 inches on Christmas Eve... Shari and I built our very first snowman (us NC girls do not get many chances to do that you know)! We also got to make Gingerbread houses and the traditional Glass Candy at Carol's on Christmas eve. Dan was not there for most of that though, cause he had to work and it started to pour down snow on his way back from Ogden to Murray. After Carol's on Christmas eve, we drove to Ogden to go to Dan's brother Chris' house for Dan's family gift exchange. We all around had a great time this Christmas! I am 19 weeks as of today, but here are some pictures of me at 18 weeks. I will be having an ultrasound next week... I am measuring big and they are going to be enlarging the pictures for due date calculations or something like that! Anywho... we will let you know how all of that goes!

Something must be right :D

Tonight I went to our ward's (actually, it was our ward and the 7th ward) Relief Society Christmas dinner. I had a great time and highly enjoyed the company of women :D I think that I have reached the point in our marriage that I am now ready to starting making friends again and actually socialize with other people than family and my friends via internet... imagine that! Perhaps I was really ready to do this early, but it did not HIT me until this week. I suspect that this epiphany occurred due to the fact that I have had the past 2 weeks off. I have noticed that when I have 2 weeks in a row off that I end up getting depressed... this has happened about 3 times. Anywho... I went to Relief Society and enjoyed it! I set at a table with my visiting teachers and 4 other women. One of my visiting teachers is pregnant and as you may suspect, that was fun :D She is expecting a boy too and like me, she is switching doctor's. She is 33 weeks and switching in about 2 weeks... she has already switched once because her first Dr. was one of those in and out, to the point kind of people... which is hard with a first baby. She is switching this time because she found out that her doctor has a very strong opinion on epidurals, pain medication during labor, and episiotomys. She wants to do a natural birth and her Dr.... not so much. Needless to say, that has presented a problem for her. I am having to switch doctors, although I REALLY do not want to, because of my insurance. I have an idea of who I might go to, although, I am really thinking about switching to a certified nurse-midwife instead. I want to do labor without pain medication (as much as possible) and for more than one reason, I do not want an epidural (the blood clotting problem being one reason). Nor do I want an episiotomy if it is not needed, which from what I have heard, the doctor that I am thinking about switching to does them A LOT. So, I think a midwife would be a good thing. Another one of the women sitting at my table was Sister Wallace... her husband and her are serving a mission in our ward. Interesting thing is, Sister Wallace's brother in-law (Bishop Stewart Wallace) is who married us. So, I got to tell the story of how Daniel and I met and then got married :D People's reactions are always so funny. My visiting teachers thought it was the coolest story ever (they are around my age). Sister Wallace asked how my parents reacted and then told me as a mother, she would have killed me. She also asked me a question that many people ask, "How is that working out for you?" I find this question to be particularly funny for several reasons. 1)We are still married (something must be going good)... 2) We are expecting (we must "like" each other at least a little) 3) What do they expect to hear... if I was really unhappy in my marriage, do you think that I would be like, "You know what, it was the worst decision that we could have possibly made... we regret it!". I mean, SERIOUSLY... obviously it must be working out for us :D On a side note, I have not felt the baby move much today and he suddenly started moving around in there a bunch! So, we had dinner (salad and lasagna) and then there was a little presentation. It was done by a lady (yeah... I do not know if she was in our ward or not)...she talked about an organization that she set up in honor of her son who passed away at the age of 15 (he was struck by lightening on a bunk at Scout Camp). The organization is called Paul's pass-along books. The concept is simple, you take a book, you read it, you log it into bookcrossing.com, and you pass it along. I got the book Knuffle Bunny... it is a book that I have heard a lot about in various pregnancy and parenting magazines and was planning on buying it to put into the baby's book collection (which is not in existence at this time). I thought this would be a great chance to take the book home, read it, share it with Dan, see if it is something that I really want to buy for the baby's collection, and pass along to someone else. It is most certainly a book that we will be buying and putting into the collection. I thought the book was really cute and both Dan and I LOVE the pictures :D I am adding pictures of my belly at 16 weeks too... then, I am signing off!

Snow and snoring

Dan wanted me to relay an experience that I had yesterday, which he thought was just too funny. I reminded him, as any good wife would, that he DOES have access to the blog as well and that he could tell you... but alas, here I am :D I called Dan the other day after getting off work and dropping off Jennifer's baby with Carol, to let Dan know that I was exhausted and going to take a nap. Of course he wondered why he needed to know this, but whatever. So, I got into the house, got all cuddled up in bed, and then Jack came into the bedroom and curled up at my feet. I sighed a sigh of releif thinking to myself, "this will be a nice nap and I will actually be able to sleep without Daniel's snoring". No sooner had I stopped thinking this did I hear the noise I was looking forward to not hearing, snoring. It was then that I realized that our cute little kittie was snoring, not purring like he usually does, but SNORING. I had to laugh and call Dan and let him know of my naptime experience, he got a kick out of it of course.
As for many people across the US, it snowed here yesterday (sorry NC family)! We got at least 8 inches in Salt Lake, Carol got a foot. The snow knocked out our power for a little while, but I did not mind since I was curled up in bed, sleeping. I thought about going outside and playing in the snow, since this is the first real good snow that we have had since I moved to UT. However, I could not bring myself to doing so, primarly because I do not have the proper clothing to do so, especially now that I am at least 30 pounds heavier than I was when I got married. Needless to say, the few winter clothes that I do have (since we do not need REAL winter clothes back home), do not fit... at all! I will be buying some maternity clothes at the end of this week... it will be nice to have at least a weeks worth of clothes that really fit, comfortably.

Thanksgiving

So, as promised, I am posting the two pictures that I have of Dan cooking his Thanksgiving turkey.
The above picture is obviously while Dan is out in the COLD, deep frying the turkey. The bottom picture is the turkey... Carol likes this picture cause of Dan's goofy looking face... he looks so proud of his turkey (which he was)... it is funny cause of how black that bad boy is. The turkey was really tender and juicy underneath the skin, but I could not eat it because of the spices that Dan injected it with.

I have been meaning to do this for some time now, but I am oddly exhausted when I get home from work. I have worked every day this week and am thankful for it because we need the money. It is not like I SHOULD be tired from work, cause I usually only work 4 - 5 hours a night, most of that time I am sitting down. I suppose making a baby is a lot of work for my little body... especially since I fully acknowledge that I am probably not eating very well. So... there I go again... I feel like all I ever talk about is the baby and work. I do not talk about work much on the blog, but that seems to be a lot of what I talk about with Dan. We all know I talk about the baby, "it's a boy, his head is big (which it is... saw it today), his heartbeat is around 160, he can sense light now even though his eyelids are still fused"... Lucky for me, Dan is really excited about having a baby as well and is at least slightly interested in things like, he can see light now and if you shined a flashlight at my tummy, he would likely move away from the light (which Dan now wants to try). Dan cannot wait until he gets to feel the baby moving too :D
Anyway, back to what I was trying to talk about in the beginning, Thanksgiving :D We had a great Thanksgiving and enjoyed getting to spend the holidays with my Dad and his family. I think this is only the second time that I have spent Thanksgiving with my Dad's side of the family (since this is the second time I have been out of NC for Thanksgiving). It was great to have a wonderful husband like Dan to spend Thanksgiving with! I highly enjoyed the (very little) cooking that I did (because I was on bed rest). I always enjoy cooking for other people... oddly enough, I hate cooking for myself. I do not know if I have previously mentioned it, but the Saturday before Thanksgiving we went over to Dan's mother's house for Pie Night. Some my brother & sister in-laws were there and I really enjoy the times that I have to get to know them better. The majority of them live in Ogden, so I do not get to see them very often (actually, come to think of it, I have only seen my sister in-law Hollie twice). Anyway, over all, this Thanksgiving was great :D
Char (Dad's girlfriend) loaned us her pre-lit Christmas tree this year. So Dan and I went out and bought some decorations for it last night. We are planning on putting the tree up on Saturday after we both get home from work. I think that we are planning on going to Temple Square on Saturday too, maybe we will end up doing that on Sunday. We have to figure out where in our tiny apartment to put the tree... but I am excited for Christmas this year :D

Bob Wehadababyit'saboy

Well, this week certainly has been one of interest. Dan and I had a (not so fun) run to the ER a few nights ago after I started to bleed. Several hours later, we had the answer we knew all along... "well, you shouldn't be bleeding". Just in case you did not know, these types of answers bug the living daylight out of me. I KNOW I shouldn't be bleeding... hence the fact that I rushed into the ER. Anyway. We were VERY happy though to see that our baby is doing just dandy. We found out that we are having a little boy, like we thought all along :D I went in for an ultrasound with Carol the next night (Wednesday) cause I started bleeding some more and we got to see that our little boy was still doing well and has a good strong heartbeat still. I started taking my Progesterine again on Wednesday and we are hoping that this will help stop the bleeding and allow for the baby to continue to grow. I have my 2nd prenatal appointment on Tuesday, so hopefully everything will continue to look good at that point. I did not get to talk to my doctor when the bleeding started (thanks to Thanksgiving), so it will be good to hear what he has to say as far as the bleeding goes. I was planning on going to this appointment on my own, since Dan has school during the time that my appointment is... but I am rethinking that since I started bleeding. I think that I shall talk to him tonight and see if it is possible for him to go to the appointment, all things considered :D I will have to post the pictures of Dan deep frying the turkey for Thanksgiving tomorrow (or later tonight)!

Second trimester - WE MADE IT!!!

Well, the picture to the left is of me (duh) at 12 weeks :D As you can tell... I think I am showing ;) I had 4 people come up to me on Sunday and ask if I was pregnant. Actually, one looked at my belly and said, "Any news?"... it did not cross my mind at the time, but he already knew because Dan ran into him on Trax and told him because his wife had just recently had a baby. Dan finally called his mother and told her, although I think she might have figured it out on Saturday when we go over there for Pie night. I am officially 13 weeks today and therefore in my second trimester :D My doctor had wanted me to stay on my Progesterone until 14 weeks, but I run out of it as of tomorrow night. Dr. Lash said that the placenta should take over the making of progesterone as of 12 weeks, so I should be in the clear! My placenta is doing well... lol... odd thing to say, but when we listened to the baby's heartbeat last week we could barely hear the baby's heartbeat over the blood flow to the placenta. I just got back from Carol's office, where she did our weekly ultrasound. It is still amazing to us to see how much the baby grows each week. This week the baby is about the size of a peach... about three inches. Our baby looked like a little monster. The baby was sitting with it's legs open this week, but we could not tell if there was a penis or a foot... guess we will just have to keep waiting to find out! Dan has decided (as of last week) that he wants a girl. Which is funny because the last 2 pregnancies he REALLY wanted a boy. I think that part of me still wants a girl, but I KNOW I will be excited either way! However, we already know that choosing a girl's name will be a lot easy for us than a boy's name. We cannot seem to agree on a name if it is a boy. However, if it is a girl we already know the middle name (Lily) and we are trying to decide between 5 first names, but regardless of her first name, we will call her Lily. OK, that is all the news that I have for now :D Send us suggestions for a boy's name... because the only name we can agree on is Stephen Thomas Weber. I will post pictures of the baby later on tonight!

12 weeks... second trimester here we come!

Just a picture of the ultrasound of the baby at 12 weeks. It is not a great picture, but you can see the baby is sucking it's thumb. You can also see how much the baby has grown in the past week :D

Baby Weber

Well, for those of you who do not know, we are "officially" announcing that I am pregnant. That's right... 3 times in 6 months... must be some sort of world record (at least I am convinced). I am just over 11 weeks now and the baby is doing well. My aunt has been doing ultrasounds weekly, which is nice, since I freak out at least once a week that something is wrong with the baby and that I have miscarried AGAIN. Last week we went to my first prenatal appointment and we got to hear the baby's heartbeat, what a relief. The heartbeat is still running a tiny bit fast, but we are not too worried about that... considering this is the first time that we have ever gotten a heartbeat on Doppler when we were supposed to! It has been really neat to be able to see how much our little baby has grown from week to week. At week 6 we could see a heartbeat :D Week 8 and 9 we saw the developing brain (so obviously a head too) and little legs. At week 10 we saw toes (so cute) and apparently the baby's arms decided to show up this week too :D The baby was doing somersaults at week 10 too. Dan was not able to see the baby at weeks 9 and 10. Which made week 11 ever more exciting... we got to see the baby moving again (this being this first time Dan saw the baby really move). This week we could see the baby's little hands and some fingers on the ultrasound. Dan said that the baby was dancing for us and that the baby only dances in public (like Dan does when we are in public). I think that we are going to have a 3D/4D ultrasound done sometime some.... probably in about 5 or 6 weeks. Here is the ultrasound picture from 6 weeks and a picture of the ultrasound screen at 11 weeks... now you get to see how much Baby Weber is growing :D

Going on 6 months!

Well, we have been married for almost 6 months now :D Dan starts school for this Fall semester tomorrow. Dan will be working part time this semester (probably about 25 hours) and doing school full-time. It will be interesting to see how much time we will actually get to spend together. I started working about three weeks ago, but only got to work for a week before being put on bed rest. I will be going back to work tomorrow and I am looking forward to getting back into the swing of things. I will be leaving for a two week vacation in NC a week from tomorrow. Daniel will be coming out about a week later! We are both looking forward to getting to go to NC. We will be getting the chance to go to Myrtle Beach, which will be the first time that Dan has gone to the Atlantic Ocean. Well, Dan just handed me an article titled, "Count on Geeks to Rescue the Earth"... which apparently he wants me to read... which is what I am going to go do!

Random Update

Nothing new or exciting going on here in UT. Dan told me that I should update our blog... so that is what I am doing! It is hotter than all get out here in UT, for those of you who do not already know this! It has been staying above 100 most days, up to 107 one day and 105 yesterday! I would like to say that I am watching the news and that is why I am vastly aware of the temperature, however, it is actually because the temperature is posted on our laptop screen. We got to take care of Dad and Char's cat, Tater, while they were in Maryland for the week of the 4th. We decided that we would get a kitten while he was here. However, the last day that Tater was with us, I asked Dan to clean the litter box (apparently this was the first time he had done so in about 10 years), after doing so, Dan says we cannot have a kitten. I find Daniel amusing, if nothing else :D Dan got accepted to NC State University. I am so proud, but slightly disappointed that we did not get this news three months ago, that way we would have been able to live in NC. Although, I am glad that we have the opportunity to be in UT, it gives me the chance to be close to my Dad's side of the family... and I am sure that it will eventually provide a good opportunity to get to know Daniel's family as well! We still both would like to move back to the east coast when Dan finishes up school, hopefully back to NC. We will just have to wait and see where our lives take us :D

We're Blogging!!!

Well, I, Stephanie-jean have decided that this is probably the easiest way for me to keep family and friends, that we are not near, up to speed. This post will be short... because we are just starting! We are getting set up pretty well in our apartment... the main thing left to do is clean and organize the office. Oh, it would be nice to get a dinner table too :D We are doing well, Dan is in school this summer and working for IHC, so he is busy busy busy... and often very tired! I am staying at home right now and taking care of things around the house! Hope that all is well for everyone :D
