Update on Penny

Just a quick update on Penelope...
~ She is off oxygen :D
~ Her white blood cell is up and in the normal range :D
~ She is breastfeeding every 3 hours and supplementing 15 mls of formula to keep her glucose up
~ She is maintaining her glucose (it was in the 70's before her 6 pm feeding) and therefore is off of her IV fluids
~ The only monitor that she is now wearing is her pulse oximeter
~ Her pediatrician, Dr. Lam, should be coming to see her in the am, I suspect that he will run another CBC to make sure that her white blood cell levels are normal and hopefully will give her the clear to go home.

I was hoping that since she is off of everything but the pulse oximeter that she would be allowed to sleep in our room tonight, but no go. Better safe than sorry... hopefully tomorrow night she will be sleeping happily in our room.. better rest up tonight :D

Happy Birthday Sweet Boy

Today was Nate's first birthday! We cannot believe that a year has already gone by since our sweet baby boy came into this world! This year has been an amazing year with many first! We look forward to what the next year my hold for us as well. Here is a quick glance at Mr. Nate's first year!

About a week after Christmas Nate learned to crawl! He crawled for food and then a keyboard :)

In January Mommy and Nate went to NC to see family!!! 9 months old! Two weeks after getting back from NC we moved!

10 months! I still love to eat!!!

My first Easter, I got cake!!! Did I mention I like to eat? - 11 months!

Sean and Nate taking a bath about a week ago! Nate LOVES bath time! Nate also loves his cousin Sean and was so happy to have him visit for two days!

We celebrated Nate's birthday by going out for lunch and having CAKE late this even (about an hour past Nate's bed time). We were planning on having a small get together at our place tonight with a couple of our friends (who Nate adores) but I am feeling flu-ish still so we have postponed that till Thursday! So we sang happy birthday to Nate and ate cake! Then we read Happy Birthday to You by Dr. Seuss and Nate went to bed! It was all and all a great day! Pictures of today to come!!!

We look forward to seeing Grandmommy and Aunt Autumn on WEDNESDAY! We will be partying all week long!

This video is of Nate going through Daddy's Easter Basket. He did not really know what to do with his own basket, but by the time we got to Daddy and Mommy's basket he sure knew what to do. Sorry the video is so shaky at first (and long)!

Nate's first time in the snow

This is how you will often find me in the morning... baby in one arm, cat in the other... this is not by any means my preferred way to sleep... but if I am to get any sleep at all I just have to give in!
I tried taking some pictures of Nate by the tree... this is probably the cutest one! I just LOVE how blue his eyes are!
I took Nate outside in the snow for the first time! This is possibly my new favorite picture of all time!

I like that you can still see him smile even with his paci in his mouth!

For some strange reason Dan hates having his pictures taken... when he does let me take his picture he does not smile... so he did this mocking me smile... I think he is cute!

Thanksgiving Fun with Grandpa

Nate loves his Grandpa and his Grandpa really loves him!

We hope that everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving and ate themselves into a Turkey Coma as well! We have been so blessed this past year and are grateful for our wonderful son each and every day of the year! Today also happened to be our sweet boy's 7 month birthday! We cannot believe how much he has grown already!

This picture is of my cousin Catherine's youngest son Tyson sitting on Nate's lap! Tyson is about 4 1/2 months older than Nate and they had a good time with each other today! Tyson just plopped on down on Nate's leg and Nate did not seem to mind... actually I think that he rather enjoyed it since he was now able to play with Tyson's overalls :D
