Catie's Baby Shower

I had the chance to go to my friend Catie Pilkington's baby shower tonight and I had a blast. I have to honestly say that I really enjoyed myself and really liked all of Catie's friends! I do not really have any married, LDS, friend's with kids out here in UT and it was really nice to be able to talk to people that I had things in common with and feel at ease with them! All of her friend's were really down to earth and friendly people. I know that might sound silly, but sometimes I just feel like people out here are NUTS! I really miss having my friends around and it was so enjoyable to be around other adult women and just enjoy their company. I was saying to Dan yesterday that it is strange to think that the person that I talk to most to in the day can not even speak. I can understand how women can go nuts staying home with their kids. I crave adult interaction. I think that now that I have had Nate that I will have to put more of an emphasis on making friends and making time to go out with them. I just wish that I could feel like Dan and I were where we are going to stay put for awhile because I almost hate to invest the time into getting to know people and then leaving, silly, I know! Anyway... I LOVE CATIE'S FRIENDS :D While at the baby shower I realized a few other things. One of which is how lucky I have been with breastfeeding! The other women were talking about how painful breastfeeding was for them and how their nipples cracked and bleed and they needed special creams or tea bags for them. AGH! I have had literally NO pain with breastfeeding, ever. No cracking, no bleeding, no creams, no ointments, no chaffing, no tea bags, no frozen peas... just a baby that likes to eat! I did get engorged when my milk came in, but it was not painful, it was just plain insane how big my boobs got! I mean, one boob is already bigger than Nate's little head, and when engorged they were like watermelons. TMI, I know! Anywho. I am exhausted from a long day, but I just HAD to blog (I don't know why) and say what a wonderful time I had tonight!

Liar. married, check. LDS, check. have kids, check. live in utah, check. I fit all of those!!! I just happen to live more than an hours drive away from you, that's all! I didn't have any nursing problems either. Unless you count the fact that my first WOULDN'T nurse a problem. He just wouldn't have it so we had to finger-feed him and then do formula (which ended up being a blessing because he was lactose intolerant!).
