In response to yesterdays blog comments... Charity, I know Nate could be far worse with the sleeping! Dan has a co-worker who had a baby girl the same day that we had Nate and he said that his little girl does not sleep at all 3 nights a week... YUCK! With that said... Nate does wake us up at 4 am. His schedule goes something like this...eat at 12, eat at 4, wake up at 6. Last night was interesting though... he was awake all day and then stayed up till 1:30 or so and then did not wake up to eat until 6:30... I was highly impressed I must say! When he woke up at 6:30 though, I could hardly walk to come and get him... I have insomnia and could not fall asleep until 5:30 last night,
agh. At one point I got up to go to the bathroom and nearly collapsed I was so tired. Hate it when that happens.

Next topic...
SOOTHIES! Yes, those silly looking pacifiers that hospitals give our babies and then our babies REFUSE to use any other type of
paci. Thanks! Well, I must say that in general I do not mind the
Soothies... if they make Nate happy, then they make me happy. However, it is annoying that I, of course, keep losing the things! So, I decided that I MUST attach Nate's
paci to him! Problem! Normal pacifier clips do not work with
Soothies. So, I went to
Wal-mart (spawn of Satan I know... Target was closed) last night to go and buy the special
Soothie Attacher... well, of course
Wal-mart does not have them!
Wal-mart always has everything I don't need (and still buy) and nothing I need (Gripe Water,
Paci holder)... random, I know. Anyway... I was going to buy another type of
paci that I think Nate will take since it is shaped for similarly to the
Soothie's nipple, but decided why waste $5 on something that he may or may not take. So, my plan was to go get the
Soothie Attacher from Target today (may still do so), but after looking at it more closely... I did not think that I like it because the part that you attach to the
binky itself is HUGE and looks highly uncomfortable to have in your face.

The Penguin or the flower part of the clip is what actually attaches to the
paci and is sticking in the infants face... nice! So then I get to thinking... I know, a miracle. I have two
paci attacher thingers, one of which I know will not work with the
Soothie... the other one WILL! So I get it out and attach it to the
Soothie (it is a Duck with a ribbon with
Velcro at the end so I can loop it through the
Soothies hole)... SWEET it works. Now the only problem is that the duck looks INSANELY HUGE sitting on Nate's chest. So, I may end up going to Target when Dan gets home to look for more
paci attachers that use the ribbon and
velcro method. I saw on e-bay a women who was making and selling
paci holders using ribbon and clips that clip onto the
Soothie's little handle thing. I was thinking that I could make my own as well (may try it, who knows) but instead of the clip, just using
Velcro. The only problem with the
Velcro/ribbon method is that you have to make sure that your ribbon is narrow enough to fit through the hole (I had to fold the current one in half to make it fit, but it worked)! I am not the craftiest person (especially considering I live in UT and am
surrounded by
uber-molly-
Mormon's who can craft anything), but I may give it a go before I call it a day and spend umpteen dollars on
paci holders! Or perhaps I shall hire someone to craft them for me (HA... that would be worth the money)! Oh... might I add that the women who was selling them on E-bay was from
Lehi... see what I mean...
uber-molly-
Mormon crafters. Thanks for the idea Molly!
