Everything and Nothing

Well, you know me... blog about everything and nothing all at the same time. At least I warned you this time! So, Dan and I went to the Walgreen's yesterday to buy Nate some Gripe Water (since I have heard that it is practically miracle water in a bottle) since Nate has been having some tummy trouble (which is a whole other story all in it's own)! I was expecting to pay about $5 at most for it... I was WRONG! The dang stuff is $10.99 a bottle... for 4 ounces! OH COME ON! Let me tell you what, the people who make baby stuff sure are in the right market. For instance... diapers... $25 for a box of diapers... INSANE, but you buy them none the less, because come on... what are your options! I mean, you could of course use cloth diapers... but let me think about that... I DO NOT OWN A WASHER and who wants to keep poopy diapers around for a week to take them to the laundry mat were other people wash their clothes? Any takers? Nope, didn't think so! Or how about the $30 sleep positioner that we bought because Nate refused to sleep in his crib. Now, don't get me wrong... it is nice memory foam, has an incline, and plays a little heart beat... but $30 for something that does not even work that well. Well, it works, but one of the side pieces is on Velcro so that it can adjust to the child, problem is... it adjust itself. However, I bought it... out of desperation really. Nothing else was working and BAM $30 gone on a sleep positioner (note: we bought a sleep position for $3 at Kid-to-Kid before Nate was born which actually functioned as a sleep position... but we some how misplaced it a few weeks before Nate was born... smooth, I know)! Anyway... back to the point that I was GOING to make (Gripe Water... stay on track here)! So, we get up to the cash register and the lady checking us out says, "Oh, I hear this stuff works wonders" (I am relieved to hear this yet again) then she continues on... "I had a lady come in here earlier today and buy 12 bottles". 12 BOTTLES... Let me spell this out for you... 12 B-O-T-T-L-E-S of GRIPE WATER!!! That is $131.88 plus tax in Gripe Water!!! It better work miracles. The cashier then tells me that the INSANE women buying $132 worth of Gripe Water said that her baby has an intolerance to gluten and that the Gripe Water helps to relieve the pain. Well, me being me has to wonder... WHY NOT STOP FEEDING THE KID GLUTEN! Now, Dan tried to rationalize with me (HA) that it is not easy to just stop feeding the kid gluten. Although, to that I have an answer... the kid's intolerance has a name... it is called Celiac Disease. My cousin has it and I have a friend who has it... it is not pleasant at all. That poor kid is probably being tortured by eating Gluten... oh well... nothing I can do about but wonder... 12 BOTTLES?

On another note... we just wanted to say...
